Ram
Bahadur Banjan
Nepal Buddha Boy

“I need
six years of deep meditation.”
Thousands flock to see meditating boy 'Buddha'
Buddha Boy & the Celtic Nagas
A teenage boy who has been meditating under a
tree in the verdant forests of southern Nepal is attracting thousands
of pilgrims who are convinced the youth is another Buddha.
Devotees flock daily to catch sight of Ram
Bahadur Banjan, who sits cross-legged and silent with his eyes shut
beneath a tree in the jungle of Bara, 100 miles south of the capital, Kathmandu.
It is claimed that the
15-year-old has not eaten or drunk anything since he sat down at his
chosen spot on May 17. He also has not relieved himself in six months,
claim devotees. Some say they have seen light emanating from the
teenager's forehead.
Ram Bahadur's fame grew
after he appeared to shake off the effects of being bitten by a poisonous
snake. He is said to have told onlookers that "a snake bit me but I
do not need treatment. I need six years of deep meditation."
The boy also told crowds
that he was not a Buddha but a lesser divine spirit known as a rinpoche.
"I don't have the Buddha's energy."
Buddhism teaches that
correct thinking and self-control can enable people to reach peace and
release themselves from worldly distractions and desires.
The Buddha was born 160
miles from Bara in 540BC and found enlightenment under a pipal tree. Ram
Bahadur is sitting under a pipal tree.
A reporter for the Kantipur
newspaper, Sujit Mahat, told Associated Press that he had spent two days
at the site, and that about 10,000 people are believed to visit every
day.
He said pilgrims can catch a
glimpse of Ram Bahadur from a roped-off area about 25 metres away between
dawn and dusk. But the boy is screened from observers at night.
"We could not say what
happens after dark," Mr Mahat said. "People only saw what went
on in the day, and many believed he was some kind of god."
A thriving market has
developed in the once-pristine forest, supplying pilgrims with everything
from tobacco and bicycle repairs to incense and sacred amulets.
Police are seeking to verify
the claims about the boy's fast.
"We have a team ...
investigating the claim on how anyone can survive for so long without
food and water," police inspector Chitra Bahadur Gurung said.
Officers have not directly questioned the boy, who appears to be
meditating deeply.
Buddhism has about 325
million followers, mostly in Asia.

Nepal Boy Called Reincarnation of Buddha
KATMANDU, Nepal (AP) - A
teenage boy has been meditating in a Nepalese jungle for six months, and
thousands have flocked to see him, with some believing he is the
reincarnation of Buddha, police and media said Wednesday.
Ram Bahadur Banjan, 15, sits
cross-legged and motionless with eyes closed among the roots of a tree in
the jungle of Bara, about 100 miles south of the capital, Katmandu.
He's supposedly been that
way since May 17 - but his followers have been keeping him from public
view at night.
A reporter for the Kantipur
newspaper, Sujit Mahat, said he spent two days at the site, and that
about 10,000 people are believed to visit daily.
Soldiers have been posted in
the area for crowd control, officials said.
A makeshift parking lot and
cluster of food stalls have sprung up near Banjan's retreat, an area not
previously frequented by visitors.
Many visitors believe Banjan
is a reincarnation of Gautama Siddhartha, who was born not far away in
southwestern Nepal
around 500 B.C. and later became revered as the Buddha, which means
Enlightened One.
Buddhism teaches that right
thinking and self-control can enable people to achieve nirvana - a divine
state of peace and release from desire. Buddhism has about 325 million followers,
mostly in Asia.
Beneath
The Pipal Tree
The popularity of the
phenomenon is partly because it resembles an episode in the life of the
historical Buddha, who was born 160 miles away around 543 BC. The Buddha
achieved enlightenment when he meditated beneath a sacred pipal tree for
49 days.
Ram Bomjon is also sitting
beneath a pipal tree, in the same posture as the Buddha is depicted, but
his vigil has already taken longer.
Ram's mother, who is called
Maya Devi, like the Buddha's mother, admits to anxiety, particularly at
meal times. But she tells herself: "God took him to the forest and I
have faith that God will feed him."
She said: "He's
definitely got thinner. Early in the morning he looks sunken, like
there's no blood in him, but as the sun rises he seems to get brighter
and brighter."
The fervour increased last
week when a snake is said to have bitten Ram, and a curtain was drawn
around him.
After five days it was
opened and he spoke. "Tell the people not to call me a Buddha. I
don't have the Buddha's energy. I am at the level of rinpoche [lesser
divinity].
"A snake bit me but I
do not need treatment. I need six years of deep meditation."

Update January 2006
It is now very cold in the forests of Nepal,
cold enough to freeze anyone sitting without shelter. The Buddha Boy - as
he is now being called - is still meditating under the pipal tree.
The most recent report comes from Nepal
The chilling cold waves have taken dozens of lives in the Terai region of
Nepal
in last several days. But Ram Bahadur Bomjan hasn’t been affected at all.
Even in this season of chill, he is continuously meditating wearing just
a single piece of dhoti. It’s been eight months since Ram Bahadur Bomjan
started meditating in Jestha 3 and there is still confusion over an
issue: he is fasting or eating at night. It has been claimed that
16-year-old Bomjan hasn’t eaten anything since he started meditating. “He
is not feeling the cold even in this winter time,” says priest Prem Lama.
“He has certainly lost weight.” Prem is the son of Ram Bahadur’s maternal
uncle. And he is the only one who has direct access to the meditating boy
who has become world famous with different names and titles: little
buddha or the buddha boy or the new buddha or the meditating buddha.
The test of the Meditator
On the recommendation of the District Administration Office on Kartik 28
an eight member team led by the Medical Superintendent of the District
Hospital Dr Ramlakhan Sah went to observe the meditator. The team after
observing Bomjan for half an hour from a distance of 5 meters said that
there was no doubt that the meditator was a living being but suggested
that for a complete investigation they would require at least seven days.
“In a time period of half an hour the meditator inhaled three times,
swallowed saliva once and moved his eyelashes” said Dr Sah. He further
added that even if he eats during the night he is an extraordinary person
for being able to sit in a single posture for 12 hours in a row. He
thinks that Bomjan has been able to do the impossible because of the
practice of Yoga. Shah says,” Investigation is necessary for this
challenge to the medical world.” Another team member Dr. Rajdev says,” We
can determine if the meditator has taken any food or not through blood
test. Only by measuring the amount of glucose in the blood we can verify
that.” But the Committee is against any investigation that requires
touching the meditator. Chairperson Thing says,” When investigation is
carried out by touching the meditator his concentration will be diverted
so we will not let that happen in any case.”

St.Clair
- 'The Great Change'
“At some point probably around 2009 with
Capricorn Pluto when the world
will change, there are going to be very strange yet highly talented children
appearing, kids with tremendous knowledge minus beliefs. They will have
been born with Pluto in Sagittarius, the ultimate reflection of truth in
the Obsidian mirror, and they will not tolerate the kind of stuff you
dealt with.
These kids will be so advanced to make your
head spin. I might as well say they will be ‘ET’ –like. They will be like
I was in the Eighties. They will be extremely developed with skills
reminiscent of Atlantis technology, but they will point to the future and
seem yet to come from ancient times with knowledge beyond what the adults
will be able to cope with, for they will terminally shatter all belief
system managements. They will be rude and righteous. Most importantly,
they will speak the truth. If you are one of these kids, go right ahead,
and smash what we had in the past!
I mean - and you know this anyway I assume -
they are not going to be anything their 'parents' can handle. If you are
a parent, observe
and learn from your
child. First of all it might not even be clear that they are truly their
parents’ kids. Secondly, these kids come in with visions, armed with
fore-knowledge and very long memories, like a remembrance which has
lasted over thousands of years, elephants’ memories to be sure. Unlike
their parents, they will use and protect their imagination so as to
survive.
These ghost children are beyond any and all of
the insane 'beliefs' that people accept today at face value on a day to
day basis. These kids are going to look at their parents and other
adults, teachers and authorities and they are going to say
straight to their faces: “Are you demented?” They are going to face down
the so-called ‘adults' the really
mentally retarded children of this planet
with a straight mirror of all their illusions and ‘never-never’
world beliefs and religions and other cumulative nonsense of millennia
ago. These kids will have been born when Neptune and Uranus were in
Capricorn, which is not for the faint hearted. Spirituality will be
useful or it will die.
I will talk about myself born in 1959 with Saturn in
Capricorn like the ones born in 1989, but I know you understand it. I
have come ahead of the 'crowd' not only to keep windows of alignments
open, but also to maintain a consciousness free of fear, and a time to
see freedom...”
Transition
of Beings:
“Many Indigo children – by 2007 in their late
teens and guided by truly enlightened beings and ancient souls – will
create their own real life miracles, to reverse some of the effects of
the great dying, ascending and causing the truth in our true spiritual
heritage and inheritance from the stars to be fully realized.”
